I’ve been reading blogs centered around news from the West Coast for far too long now – let’s see about putting the Upstate on the East Coast’s IT map along with RTP & Atlanta!

While I envision the group being mostly about web technologies, I look forward to whatever others want to bring to the table – as long as it is IT related.

Hopefully it won’t center around job searching like 1000 other groups out there do already – I’m thinking just plain ol’ IT talk, whether it be web design, web technologies, SEO/SEM, webmaster, standards, OSS, security, programming, etc.

A little background: I sat around 8 years in a little cubicle doing the corporate thing – coding COBOL for mainframes back during the Y2k fiasco. After a company buyout and my wife and I moving to Greenville for her new job at Michelin, I figured it was now or never, so I started a local company, “Websites Done Right’. I am very happy with it since it’s growing more and more for us everyday, and I think now’s a good time to give back by sharing some of what I’ve learned.

That certainly doesn’t mean I know everything, but I’m sure I can pass on a few things, and the goal is that hopefully you’ll have something to pass on to me too.
