Real-World Testing of Compressed Storage Bags

January 11

While Christmas shopping, we came across some $10 storage bags that you see all the time on TV; you know the ones – where you hook up the bag to a vacuum cleaner hose and let it suck all the air out so the bag flattens down to a pancake – so we figured we’d go ahead and give them a shot.

To be honest, it might’ve been able to get even flatter, but when the vacuum cleaner started making a whining noise after several seconds, we decided to stop there. Here are the before and after pictures:

In the end, I guess they’re worth it. We haven’t bothered to empty any of the bags yet to see whether or not the items pop back to their original size & shape, but until then, at least we are able to fit more into a confined space.
