Here’s an idea how fast next week’s updated USB spec is gonna be for ALL of us: 3.0 is expected to offer 10x the speed of the current version, or roughly 5 gigabits per second.

Put another way: the same transfer would take 13.9 minutes with the current protocol or 9.3 hours with old-school USB 1.0!
